MEET OUR SENIOR MANAGEMENT TEAM

 Tom O’Hagan 

Founder and CEO

Tom O’Hagan is a leading figure within the telecommunications industry and has worked in the sector, both in the UK and internationally, for more than 15 years. In 2012, Tom was named a ‘Young Gun’ by Growing Business in its annual list of the top 30 young entrepreneurs in the UK, in June 2013, Tom was awarded ‘Channel Entrepreneur of the Year’ at the Comms Business Awards. followed by Entrepreneur of the Year at the 2017 Comms National Awards

 Magnus Batsvik-Miller 

CFO

Magnus has extensive experience managing financial affairs for high-growth companies, most notably at World First, as Group Finance Director, leading a team of 30 to grow the business by 400% in just 4 years.Magnus is responsible for continuing the growth strategy of Virtual1, capitalising on the increasing demands for cloud and connectivity solutions in the wholesale marketplace.

 Jason King 

CSO

Jason has worked in the Telecommunications industry for over 20 years. Having held senior roles for companies such as Energis, Vodafone, COLT and most recently Virgin Media Business where he was responsible for building the Indirect Channel Division. Jason is now responsible for Sales Strategy, execution and building significant scale within Virtual1.

 David Simpson 

COO

David joins Virtual1 from Virgin Media, where he held a number of senior roles within the operational division: from being Head of National Networks; through leading Business Wholesale provisioning and service management function; to, most recently, running strategy, analytics and NPS for the COO, shaping the 5-year strategic plan across 10 operational divisions and linking that to the long-range financial plan.

 James Hickman 

CTO

James is a well established member of the telecoms industry. Before joining Virtual1 as Chief Technical Officer, James worked as Head of Technical Consulting for Telstra International, developing and implementing highly complex global WAN and hosting solutions for clients both in the UK and internationally. James is Chartered by the Engineering Council and the British Computer Society, is an associate of many industry bodies and in 2010 was appointed as an Arbiter for RIPE.

CHARITY

Virtual1 has a strategic charity partnership with Restless Development, an international development charity that aims to empower young people across the world, who might otherwise be caught in a spiral of unemployment, poverty, lack of education and poor access to health services.

Restless Development currently works in 8 countries in Africa and South Asia, where they listen to the young people of poor communities and train volunteers from these communities in a range of skills that can benefit their own communities. Using young volunteers to provide the training, who can relate to the community volunteers, they help them to find the answers to the problems facing their communities. There is no right or wrong solution, as each community faces it’s own set of problems.
