Implementation Engineer

Main purpose of the Role:

· Working as part of the Engineering Implementation (EI) team to ensure the Virtual1 Provisioning team is supported by way of all required technical implementation work.

· Manage and implement change requests from Partners to meet SLA commitments.

· Provide field engineering and associated resource for the Architecture team as required.


What you’ll be responsible for:

· Managing and implementing change requests from Partners to meet SLA commitments.

· Providing field engineering and associated resource for the Architecture team as required

· CPE configuration, port configuration, IP address assignment and similar activity allocated from the Provisioning Team as tasks within Salesforce

· PoP cabling, installation, de-installation and general remote-hands duties assigned by the Architects

· Maintaining stock levels of necessary cables and components to complete the above work.

· Complete all detail (ports, IP addressing, port numbers etc.) relating to services that have be built, amended or ceased by the EI team

· Working as part of the Engineering Implementation (EI) team to ensure the Virtual1 Provisioning team is supported by way of all required technical implementation work.


Essential skills:

· An analytical mind

· Strong background in Telecommunication environment

· Able to demonstrate knowledge of networking topologies and routing protocols

· Confident in the levels of the OSI model and how it relates to MPLS and VPLS

· An ability to learn new technologies quickly

· Process and Teamwork oriented approach with both internal and external customers

· Commercial and business awareness

· Working knowledge of Wide-Area networking technologies, topologies and routing protocols

· Strong analytical and trouble-shooting skills; gathers evidence, investigates solutions, considers implications for the business, goal-orientated

· The ability to multi-task numerous projects throughout the day with excellent organization

· Builds long-term relationships both internally and externally across different cultures

· Establish creditability with Customers and Partners using appropriate interpersonal styles and communication methods
